    - install iTunes
    - load up iTunes
    - click 'File' in the top left corner
    - scroll down to 'Add Folder to Library'
    - in the resultant dialog box navigate to the Folder where the music is stored
    - click ok

    That will get your music into iTunes. To get it onto your iPod;

    - connect your iPod to your computer using your USB cable (it'll be obvious what end goes where)
    - if iTunes is set for automatic copying you don't need to do anything else, all the music will copy itself over (you can disable this by clicking on the little iPod icon at the bottom right of screen. on the resultant dialog click on 'Automatically Manage my Music')
    - if not then click on the 'All (X Artists)' and drag it over to the left on top of the entry in the 'Source' window that represents your iPod.

Have fun. Its easy once you get going. You may have to label your iPod at some stage, but thats a no-brainer.

There are lots of methods for this (most better than Itunes), but if you have itunes installed already and this is a one off then probably just use itunes.

    Open Itunes, connect the ipod.
If this is the first time you've done this then it will ask you to name the IPOD, go ahead.
I would also uncheck the automatically update ipod with itunes folder option. This synchronises your ipod with what is in the itunes music folder, including if the itunes music folder is empty (e.g. on a different computer) it could then wipe your ipod (this option can also be accessed by clicking the IPOD icon on the bottom right).

the IPOD should show up in the left "Source" pane.

Go to File -> Add Folder to library. Select the folder where your music is stored (multiple times if multiple folders).
All your music will then show up when you select the "Library" tab.

Highlight all the songs that you want to transfer and drag and drop into the IPOD tab in the left pane.

Robert's your father's brother, all your music is on the IPOD.

If you have any problems please post back.

    - Download and install EphPod (www.ephpod.com) - only 3.7mb
    - Run, select iPod drive (e.g. E:, F: or whatver)
    - Drag music onto window
    - Close, click 'yes' to 'do you want to update iPod database'

    ...and you are done.
