What just happened

So I was just playing Pro Evo 5 online, beating Brazil 1-0 with Ireland after scoring a cracker with Robbie Keane after 1:08;) A while later, the ball went out for a throw and the next thing the whole screen went bleugh! It just froze. The frozen image was like the top inch of the screen was dragged from the bottom up leaving a trail all the way up. Then the screen just slowly started getting brighter and brighter until it was basically a white glow with slight trace of the dragged image behind it.

I tried Alt and Enter to get back to windows but nothing happened. Maybe I should have tried more than once and maybe I didn't press it properly the first time:confused: So I had no alternative but to hold my laptop power button to turn the laptop off. It was like it had never happened after that. It's fine now, I started up Pro Evo again, that was fine too.

Anyone ever experience something like this? What should I do?

Ah weird **** happening is in the realm of online gaming man, I've had the same happen to me with various games (not pro evo though). The game you were running was heavily relying on internet traffic though so any interruption is going to send it tits up tbh... I wouldn't worry about it mate, it wouldn't have caused any damage and the same thing has happened to me many, many times!

That's reassuring, thanks:) So it's definitely just got to do with the online thingy and nothing to do with my laptop? :)

In future try Alt&tab, Alt&esc or Alt&f4 before you press the power button though :)

Maybe it was the fact Ireland were beating Brazil, the computer probably could'nt fathom it.:)

Its happened to me with games, hanging and that but not the bright thing.

Well eh....have to say regardless of the net problems I experience with games I'd be very, VERY worried if the mentioned problem happend to me whilst playing Battlefield 2 in the middle of a frantic battle.

It sounds like a definate gfx issue, not net.....the fact Windows itself was non responsive reinforces that.

Cormie out of interest is this your laptop you reported problems with before?
