I've had to close my Bar Room message board since it's been spammed. Any suggestions for a replacement place?

    Richard

Note to mods: if there's a more appropriate forum for this thread then can you move it? Richard

If the person who caused this by spamming rlogue's board is reading this, would they ever do us all a favour and go and take a running jump?

Perhaps a home could be found in this neighbourhood?

    Richard,

    IF boards.ie can't host it
    see http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/forumdisplay.php?f=461

Then P.M. Byte and me. There is another forums system that is turned off at present.

Can't you ban posters and delete their posts?

Manually approving new registrations and send password via email.

I'll surely have no issues with hosting a forum for you on my server.

Do you have many posters? If there aren't that many thousand, my host won't have a problem. Sorry, I never even knew you had a board! :o

There were a few regulars, but a lot of the discussion also goes on here. The only really unique part of the board was any discussion of past RTE programmes. I'm inclined to only do a board for discussion of Irish TV history as the ICDG board pretty much covers the rest! :)

Ask the Boards ie or ICDG if you could have an Irish TV History Section.

Can't offer any advice, but sorry to hear about that Richard. I was an infrequent poster there as you know, but I always like to think of it being there for me to pay the odd visit!

How about getting together with ICDG and setting up a TV history/nostalgia section linked to from Irishtv.com and moderated by yourself ?

Assuming all concerned have no objections (hope Im not being too presumptious here)

I suggest requesting a Hosted board on boards.ie - might be a good option.

Yeah, Buffybot has a good idea. Otherwise, your forum would probably have to fall under the Television category or ICDG.

Otherwise, feel free to use the phpBB I've running on my server (if you want it, register on it, and email me, and I'll give you admin access). Though, I'd say you'd get more traffic within boards.ie if approved.
