HD-ready / HD- compatible

    not sure if this is right forum ,but I would like to know what the difference between a HD-ready tv and a HD-compatible tv is- if any.

    I am looking to buy one shortly , so i wanna know what to look out for.

    from what ive made out HD-READY means its proper HD and HD Compatible means it converts the HD Viseo Streamt o Standard tv streams i could be wrong though

    can anyone else shed any light on this?

    and what other specs should i be lookin out for to get a good HD tv ? ...like 1360x___ or 1280x____??? < what exactly does that mean?
