    Hi,

I currently live in the UK but am contemplating a move to Ireland. Please could someone let me know if poker\gambling winnings are taxed in Ireland and also is it possible to get money out of Party Poker and into your bank account easily (i currently use my switch card which is very handy)

    Thanks Paul

All winnings are tax free. And you can stay in my house if you want.:D

Poker earnings aren't taxed at all.

I play on Party poker and use neteller. Neteller payments on Party usually only take a couple of hours. From there you can move your money to any european bank account for exactly $1.

If you don't have a neteller account be sure when you set one up to set the currrency to dollars. Upgrade to the premium membership (It's free) and link it to your bank account. It takes a while to get it all set up in the beginning but once you are it should only take 3-4 working days for you to get your money from Party Poker into your hands.

I have a netteller debit card and can now get money from Party to my hand (through an atm) within a couple of hours

I use NETeller now for all of my transactions, and have done for the past few months, after getting adjusted to using it.

How long does it take to apply for a debit card?

...and what are the fees like for making withdrawals?

    :)

    It can be very hard to open a bank account as a new arrival, even from the UK. I would strongly recommend transferring your bank acc through and existing link between the UK bank (eg Nat West and Ulster bank) Check with your bank and your prospective bank before you set up here. At the very least you may need;

    1. An Address
    2. A letter from your employer
    3. Passport

(Have a friend who had to bank with the branch that was his employer's branch and he had to run his account for 3 months before getting a laser/switch card)

If you try to deposit a relatively large amount in an Irish bank with no previous history you will set off every money laundering protection system in Ireland!

Thanks for the replies guys, very helpful.

Only problem with using Neteller is they screw you on the exchange rates, looks like the only way to get the money to a bank though so mau have to put up with that.

    Thanks again guys.
