Not really sure where this should go cos its part film, part music, part advertising and part stupid people complaining! so feel free to move it!

The posters for the 50 Cent film "Get Rich or Die Tryin" have had to be taken down because he is glorifying gun culture. Fair enough, even though I like rap and hip-hop music, I think its a bit mad praising him for being a gangsta. But the film shows how he chooses the kid over the gun culture and thats what the ad poster was tryin to show.

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jollie (hot) had guns in the Mr and Mrs. Smith posters, but nothing was raised over that. Is it because they are white movie stars and 50 Cent is black, a former drug dealer and will corrupt "white England"?

people know that Mr and Mrs Smith is fictional whereas 50's movie is loosely based on real-life events that do glorify the gangsta culture.

i would agree that its PC gone mad but i can see why they would feel like this. 50 Cent has as much influence over some teenagers as their parents do!

I personally wish he would die trying.

Too late cos he's rich and judging by how crap his last album was he's not trying anymore ...(musically at least).

Smart guy (or smart management..prob 2nd one) having a CD, Film and a game come out almost at the same time. Talk about attacking on all fronts!

When you've got muppets running around Dublin suburbs saying they're the real "OG" kicking peoples heads in, threatening people with guns(which I've no doubt they've got) It's clear the influence that K**B has on the thicko's amongst us. Madness!! definately. PC gone mad... er... NO!!

I don't care about political corectness. But the imagery in the poster and the title "Get rich or die tryin" is the wrong message to be sending kids in neighbourhoods where gun violence is the number one killer.

50 cent is simply is a vehicle to sell a whole variety of products. CDs, movies, clothing, cars, video games, you name it... The bottom line is the dollar. He has as much street credibility as Donald Rumsfeld.

what's worst about PC is when people say PC has gone mad when a couple in a comedic film display guns and a dude in a movie called "get rich or die tryin'" displays a gun, and the latter gets the posters pulled down...

mr. and mrs. smith was HARDLY going to make kids go "omg i'm gonna get married and kill my wife". now, i'm all for violent films, but 50cents average fan is 12, from ballymun, white.. but thinks he/she is black. if they think this movie is awesome, then we got problems homes.

as for the UK banning it, they have fears over gun culture there at the moment. if a movie inspires more kids to go get guns and shoot the guy who copped off with their sister at their 15th birthday party, then get rid of the posters.

for what it's worth, it's supposed to be a stinker of a film anyway.
