I am looking to get certified in Solaris. Does anybody know where any of the test centers are located ?

What is the best way to go about learning? I will have support and expertise from work but are there formal courses out there too, that may be better for exam preperation?

If you have done this I would be keen to know of your experience, thanks.

System Administrator for Solaris 10 is only a relatively new exam, there aren't many books (and consequently courses) out there just yet (a fair few should be available by the end of this month) but the vast majority of Solaris 9 books will cover the basics... there are two exams (part 1 and 2), and both can be sat in any prometric testing centre .. check www.prometric.com

Its not the toughest exam ever to pass (60% out of 60 questions afaik), but you will have to know everything inside out regardless, if you don't have any experience of Solaris to date (but some UNIX exposure), then give it a month or two of working with it, then see about a course or books, by which time there might be more choices available (qa.com may offer courses in ireland).

    Hey Kali,

Thanks for the info, its just what I was looking for.

Are the books specifically catered for these exams or are they general solaris books?

    thanks again ..

For all other SCSA / SCNA (Solaris Certified Network Admin) exams , there were specific books to pass exam.

SCSA is 2 exams . SCNA is one, if you have CCNA , SCNA will be pretty easy.

This is SCSA book for 10, check BOOKPOOL , as far better than AMAZON.
