What is XGA ? is it an advancement on VGA ?
I got an LCD TV XGA and 1378 * 760 res. does this make it HD Ready ?

And HD ready, unless you have a blue ray DVD player , you don't notice the
    difference or do you ?

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/XGA

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HD_ready - For the TV to be "HD ready" it has to have a HDMI or DVI connection that can accept HDCP (High-Bandwidth Digital Content Protection System). Check the manual if you are not sure.

You get the advantage of a HD screen unless you hook it up to a HD source like an Xbox360, a PC, upscaling DVD player etc.

are you sure you hav'nt read it wrong
    is it not WXGA?

what tv did you get, because it should Have HDready on it, if it has either HDMI or DVI.
If you want to experience some HD on it, hook it up to your PC (im sure it must have a PC input) and download some HD material from Windows
Also have a look Here, its a post i done a while back about HD
