    EW and EW double:

    Historic Place 1.0 Wincanton. This Sangster cast-off ran 6L behind Diamond Sal in the 2004 Martell bumper before being switched to flat staying races and now has a flat rating of about [70] over 16f. Bred to stay and with speed in his genes:

    DP = 5-2-20-0-1 (28) DI = 1.55 CD = 0.36

    The favourite Hobbs Hill won a bumper a year ago - but that race didn't produce any stars.. but he's well entered up this week and well enough bred to win at this distance:

    DP = 2-1-8-6-7 (24) DI = 0.41 CD = -0.63

    I think the fav will be much shorter than forecasted and hope to get 5/1 EW on Historic Place.


    Able Charlie 3.0 Wincanton. Looks to be on a nice weight for his handicap hurdle debut. This 4yo has been allotted [98] but with his age allowance this equates to [79]. He won off a flat rating of [59] over 7f this year and has had 4 runs over hurdles although has raced a bit too keenly. Well bred to stay for a lowly class E handicap:

    DP = 1-0-8-2-9 (20) DI = 0.33 CD = -0.90

    At 25/1 this one is my EW Nap

    Backed the winner of the 1pm race myself but only at 3/1 on betfair last night, can't beleive it was 13/2.
