Myself and the misses are thinking of going to Thailand in June.

Could anybody give us some pointers. we want to book most of it ASAP to get the good prices.

Is it a good time of the year to go there??

    What flights to go??

We were thinking of starting in Bangkok and then going trekking and then spending some time down in the south to work with some of the Aid organisations and have a bit of a beach holiday??

    Any advise more than welcome:D

myself and the boyfriend were in thailand at end of aug/beg of september last year for nearly three weeks and had a fantastic time. it is so easy to travel around when you get there and in general the people are lovely. However, there is a lot of blatant prostitution pretty much everywhere you go.

we started in bangkok and flew to chiang mai to do a trek (booked flight before we went cost e25) we just did two day trek thought three might be too much for us. trek was brilliant, jungle was beautiful, swam in waterfalls but was quite tough at times. be warned when u stay overnight, there really is nothing only a shack, no electricity or anything but its great fun.

we then flew to phuket (as we were there for short time, flew everywhere to make most of our time) stayed for two nights and then took boat to phi phi, very relaxed chilled out place for four nights. they are still rebuilding the island, a lot of devastation there but is probably further on now.
We then went to ko samui and ko phangan and back to bangkok.

it was a busy schedule but brilliant,

June is prob a very good time to go. we were there at start of raining season and while there wasnt much rain, it was quite cloudy but still very warm.

if there's anything else you want to know, ill do my best to help out.

the best deal on flights i could find was with trailfinders 760 each. for internal flights check out thailandflights.com which has links to loads of websites for airlines

I spent a few weeks there a few years back. Flew into Bangkok, spent a few days there. Got a flight down to Koh Samui, nicest airport ever! Travelled around the island a small bit, bit too comercialised for me, could have been in the canaries, nice beaches though. Hopped on a boat to Koh Phgan Ngan. Stayed in Haad Rin. Just loved it there. You meet so many people, very relaxed and easy going and no one trying to sell you crap. Full moon party was on while I was there, great party. Highly recomend that island and the locals are so friendly. I could have went to the islands on the west, Phuket, etc.. but I know I wouldn't have enjoyed it from what people had told me about them. Just read up on it, lonely planey and the thorn tree are sites that I would highly recommend. I spend most of my time on these before I travel anywhere and it really helps to plan a trip around what interests you and helps get the most out of your trip.

    Enjoy!
