I want to get a couple of Apple speakers and run them into the kitchen so I can play radio stations on the computer and hear them in the kitchen. What kind of wire do I need, and where can I get it, please?

I'm pretty sure you can get wireless speakers that work via bluetooth. Pretty expensice though. Otherwise you'll need a long extension cable. You can get good quality audio cables in Maplin electronics. I've wired systems up to 50 feet using standard 3.5mm to phono. No problem.

I say, if you have airport installed on your mac, try airport express Base station to connect to any home stereo/amp. it allows to send tunes wirelessly from itunes, even you can use a USB printer to send printing command.

I have AirPort, but I don't really want to put the AirPort into the greasy kitchen, since the printer and broadband plug into it. I'd prefer to run the speakers out to the AirPort from the kitchen!

You could use wireless speakers such as these to do what you are seeking:

I have a brand new boxed pair of these speakers (and transmitter, transformers etc) that I don't need and I will be putting up a thread shortly in For Sale forum so keep an eye out there if you are interested.
