    hi
    can anyone tell me how to format a number tomake sure it has a certain amount of zeros it
    ie
    i have a number like 10 and i want to format it to be 000010
    i have a number like 990 and i want to format it to be 000990

    anyone ?

    Use printf or sprintf. See www.php.net

    if $number contains your unformatted number

    $formatted_number = str_pad ($number, 6, "0", STR_PAD_LEFT);
