Hi , not sure what forum to put this in so please move it if im worng.

I've been told that neither Ireland nor the UK have court records as such.
Instead there is something called a certificate of conviction that has all of the information available to the court at the time of a trial. So far ...true ?

How does one get these documents? How do you find a clerk of court if that is indeed the right person? If you need to have the records in a hurry is there anyway to expedite the process. Do you need to talk to lawyers or investigators for that sort of work ?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
And oh, yes , the conviction is question was mine own. I was a silly girl once upon a time. And no , im not in Ireland.

    Thanks!

If no one can answer you here, I would try the college forums, you might be lucky and catch a law student online. Failing that, I think you do need to ask a legal pro.. IMO, I think you are able to obtain records/correspondence on yourself, but how quickly - I don't know.

I can see the problem but im reasonably certain that what i am asking about would not constitute legal advice. This is a procedureal matter. If you were to tell someone to go to Oasis.gov to submit form x to get a rebate , no-one would think you had suddenly become the guys accountant. I see a query liek this the same way.

That's my opinion , and it may be wrong , it may be against policy here, Ill delete it all if a mod asks me to. But im still hoping some kind soul will point me in the right direction of some answers

Well apart from all that, I mean this seems like it's pretty improtant and kind of urgent..why don't you just contact a solicitor? Even if someone does offer you answers here, who's to say it's right? You may be waisting valubal time?
