warranty running out

Just wondering what views people have on warranties on their laptops.

Mine runs out in June 2006 - it is a 3 year one on a Toshiba Portege.

It had a new screen fitted a year ago and I will get a new keyboard fitted shortly as a couple of keys are dead.

Are you comfortable with risky repair costs after your warranty runs out or would you buy a new laptop and the security of another 3 year warranty?

I'd keep using the laptop until it broke and then see how much the repair costs were versus the new one.

I'd not buy a new laptop "jsut for a new warranty" though.
