one ranked server...wtf

i started playin bf2 in the summer and when i did i had 4 ranked servers to choose from but they were all 16 player,but i tought that was it, bit retarded i agree. now i have returned under a new name and the f**ked up thing is i only have one 16 player server to chose from and i spent at least a half an hour tryin to get on it (sniper skills payin off) but what a sh*te server, crashes after it gets to a new map in the alphabet and goes back to the first one, took 4 hours to get to gulf(i'm not a loser, im just jet lagged), so out of frustration i tried to find a new server to play on but there were no new ones, so i filtered ones that weren't the same version and they were in the hundreds...THE HUNDREDS. they were all red so obviously that means there not the same version but they were all playin the same maps as me and they weren't usin passwords cause the symbol wasn't there and when ever i tried to connect it said it was my connection but i have a pretty good connection, never gives trouble.

so i have been thinkin this through but im probably wrong, you see i think i'm still on version 1.00 cause im a bit dense with patches, i still can't get vietnam to work and i downloaded this forums patch but thats another post and off topic

i need help and if i dont get it i'm gonna start punchin the pc and burnin bf2 and you guys are pretty good at advisin ppl what to do if theres a problem so HELP ME......:( ...PLEASE

u need the 1.12 patch, thats the latest one. there is a newer due out any day now.

so i woke up egearly this mornin thinkin i had a new bf2 and i did it's great all those servers are a nice a lovely shade of white and some nice new features appeared but wait it can't be true, when i tried to join ''apparently'' my cd key was invalid but thats the code i used to install bf2?...wtf is goin on

hmm strange that, find a cd key changer and re enter your valid code

lol i'm in way over my head, i uninstalled it before i saw your sugestion R0ot cause i think thats the only way you can re-enter the code anyway, i looked for somewhere inside the game.

so i did that but in puttin in patch 1.12 i had to update editplus and java and i think...I THINK that might of f**ked it up, so now i have no nividia driver or bf2 and sooner or later it will all set in and i'll go crazy ..rofl i f**ked up real bad . i've been tryin to reinstall it but it stops half way threw and says ''windows was unable to install, start again from the start later''???..nividia says it can't find a driver to support it or something, well at least i have the right code....lol, all you can do is laugh about i guess... for now

well i come bearin meh? deasent news, i have got bf2 back:D , plain old average bf2, i have a ****e load of work ahead of me to get it to the top standards but at least i have it, and some helpful news i guess, you cant install bf2 until a certain time of day, i guess EA won't let you but as you might of guessed i'm just guessin

i've never been so happy to say i'm gonna be spendin the next hour or so fixin my bf2, cheers guys:p

I_M_Orphan.....you seem to have one fu*cked up system.

Firstly yeah, you miised out on the fact that there were 4 patch releases since last June, you don't need to reinstall to reenter your cd-key, just go to the /BF2/support/ folder and execute the bf2support.exe program.

On the EA UK Forums you can get instructions to properly uninstall BF2 should you have problems reinstalling it again.

And EA doesn't stop you from installing the game at certain times of the day.


So now that BF2 is running again, just make sure you have 3gb free on C: and install the patch. If you don't then come here for some help *before* you try to install it.

i got it all workin again with the patch 1.12 so i'm pretty happy and i do have a habbit of f*ckin things up more than i should. but it was great i was on the TIG server for the first time ever but i was the only one there, bit of a sh*t buzz, and the EA thing, meh ... i dont know it seemed to be the only thing that made sense, i'm just full of assumptions :rolleyes:

the new patch will be another excuse for me to f*ck up my game, i'll run a poll before i download to see how much i f*ck up
