    ctrl+what closes the current tab?

    CTRL+T opens a new tab.
    CTRL+N opens a new window.
    CTRL+C closes the active tab.
    CTRL+SHIFT+W closes active window.

    All show in the drop down menu in "File" :)

    F1 btw opens the Help Menu - in case you thought it was a trick. :) Might be of use :)

    The only FF shortcut I use anymore is Ctrl+[#] where # corresponds to the tab number (from left to right)...very handy, since it cuts down on so much mouse work. You can do nearly everything else with the right click and Tabbed Browser Pref extension.
