Does anyone else find the sound on their psp extremely low? I have mine on full blast and I cannot hear it on a bus, the bus noise over crowds it.

The music function becomes totally useless if you hear everything around you except the music. Is there a special option or addon or software or hack that boosts sound?

Yeah it part of the design with the sony headphones. Some EU law about not deafening kids. Just get another pair of ear phones and the sound will be grand

Yeah they are a complete joke. I couldn't listen to anything on the street as traffic would blot out any sound...

Whereabouts did you get them? I've been looking for a decent set for ages now.

Aye I have a set of those mdr-300s that I hook up to the PSP (at home; way too big for out and about) and I can't turn the thing up full blast without hurting my ears.

Make sure you have AVLS turned to the Off position in the in-game menu (under sound settings I think).

And the UMD video volume can be adjusted by: +1 or +2

sony stores. argos do them too. they're pricey. bring a shiny new €50 note if you plan on getting them...

    scrap that. http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B000684HRI/qid=1136241712/sr=1-1/ref=sr_1_2_1/026-0744831-9449229
but they're white. too "trendy" for my liking...

    these are also very good:

what are they like? I need to get a new pair as the sound with the bundled ones are $hit and too low.

They're alright. Nothing spectacular. They're a bit fiddly to get in at first but once they're in they don't feel as if they'll fall out or anything. I haven't compared them against my PSP/iPod headphones yet, I just wanted a set that wasn't white.

if you use different headphones the sounds way higher, just the ones that come with the psp are really low
