How do you properly dispose of old electrical goods?

Ive just bought a new TV and Argos took back the old one for free, however I've got a couple of other things to get rid off (broken small stereo and an old brick sized digital camera)

I'm in Dublin 6, does anyone know where you take old appliances (when your not buying new replacments) and is there a charge for disposal????

Your local council should have a recycling facility. Dont know what if any charges there would be. Give them a ring on Tuesday and they will advise you.

Nice to see someone going down this road instead of dumping.

Dublin 6 area would be Dublin city council,I don't know off hand in your area the local recycling centre, but there is one just off Kildare road(windmill road) as you are going up towards the Star bingo hall in Crumlin. They might facilitate you.

Your local civic amenity center will dispose of any electrical item free of charge wether you bought a new one or not
