I just had Sky installed last wednesday but I wasnt given a PIN number. Is there a default PIN before you set one yourself?
    Thanks

should be the last 4 digits of your viewing card number (on the underside of the viewing card)

Is it ok to remove the Sky card or will it reset everything to defaults?

yeah its fine to remove it, or you could just press services, system setup, and the system details. That will also give you your viewing card number.

Is it not strange that it was asking for a pin for a 12s movie? I have all my restrictions turned off so it seems stupid to me that it should ask for my pin at 7pm for a 12s film.

Its good old OFCOM that are getting sky to implement this. PIN is needed for 12 films before 8.

I'm having the same problem with my new Sky+ box. The odd thing is the last four numbers on the viewing card doesn't work as the pin.

If you had a previous card, it is the previous card.

Otherwise ring Sky and they will set a PIN for you.

I had the same issue where my PIN is from an older card. Rang $ky to get it updated. They said there would be a 98-minute wait!!!!!
Any other way to get your PIN reset?

No. My advice is to ring Sky before 9am. Best to catch them early in the day.

Another tip to get Sky to answer the phone quickly is to press option '2' on the phone (question is : " if you are not an existing customer and wish to get sky installed" ).
They always answer this one quickly as they don't want the potential new customer to hang up!
Same people answer and can deal with your query whichever button you press.

    Works for me everyday !
Also, yes early the earlier the better. 7.00 am is perfect!
