How do I sign up for Eircom?

I'm sorry if this is the wrong forum, but I searched around for a bit and couldn't find an eircom specifically forum, or for getting connected to providers.

I moved place recently and I don't have any Eircom line. I tried to ring 11811, and nothing happened, so that just confirmed there was no service. The place has a landline already but is not connected. I want to get broadband in but I have to get connected first. How do I get connected to Eircom?

Best bet I would say is to venture into your local 3G store: they handle Eircom admin afaik.

11811 is just directory enquiries. call 1901 or go to www.eircom.ie to get a line

I looked up eircom.ie everywhere but I cannot find info about getting a line.

ring 1901 to get lines connected , even from a mobile, free call.

yes and no, it confirmed there was no contract but not 'no service' per se . Did you dial 199000 (also free) ?

If a number is "spoken back" from dialling 199000 try inputting that number in the DSL line checker Here , does it pass ? If so you can get BB .

do tell us what happens because the next bit of advise will be a tad kafkaesque .
