    Zeitgeist 12.15 Catterick spf'cast 5/4 fav.

The Howard Johnson team have had 3 winning fav's from 3 in Novice Hurdles in the last 2 weeks and this one looks to be their 4th.

Much the best rated on the flat: and his 4 length beating in the Ebor off [98] gives him the credentials to beat likely 2nd fav Serbelloni - rated [76] - who also has a 7lb penalty.

The combination are in division 2 in the 12.45 with Turnstile the 10/11 fav but he shoulders a 7lb penalty and takes on another decent flat stayer in Cordial - on a line through Baddam this one comes out on top so the 5/1 spf looks good for an EW saver.

best of luck all xx and a Happy New Year.. :D:D

I think you're spot-on re Zeitgeist, Colette. (Welcome to the forum BTW)

Another big money purchase by Graham Wylie out of Luca Cumani's stable. The horse certainly showed that the distance of 1m6f in the Ebor was no problem.

Serbelloni will improve for his Kelso win but like you say is shouldering 7llbs extra. Anyway, has he the class to win against the likes of Zeitgeist?? I doubt it. I think Zeitgeist might prefer softish going ............. by Singspiel out of a Rainbow Quest mare.

    Best of luck.

I won't be disagreeing with you Collette on your selection for winner. But my punt will be on Jontys'lass for a good e/w bet. The horse ran well in Wetherby on similar ground earlier this year and is a hard worker under the right pilot. Happy new year to 1 and all btw!!

A lot has passed since the forum was created all that time ago.
