    Does running MSN messenger or Yahoo Messenger whenever a PC is online, expose a PC to attack more than if these were not in continual use ? :confused:

    technically, yes, considering they open ports and what not... but think of the hacker side. they'd have to find you, your IP and KNOW that port is open. random hacking doesn't go on like that (not much anyway).

    if you're worried about, invest in a firewall.
