People Recking your Holidays

    Ever happen to you?

First holiday since this time last year. Staying with friends I used to work with 6 years ago. They are traveling the world and are in Iceland now.

Just to get here was a pain and I thought due to the time it took us to get here (43 hours), I thought my "mate" (the girl I am staying with cousin) would be will up for it. But instead my mate has been acting like one mother fu*king odd ball.

One of the people I'm staying with broke his collar bone last night. It was an AR (alcohol related) accident (slipped on his ass in the snow). My "mate" knocked in to him today and knocked offer his Xbox. My mate didn’t say sorry or anything. Just said I don’t care what pain you’re in. Thats just one example. At atmosphere here is terrible.

So much for a holiday. This trip has been on disaster after another.

    Any other horror stories?

    Lose em all.
Head off on your own or they'll ruin your holiday.

I went out to buy smokes a few minutes ago... just got back to the house and realized I'd forgotten to get my change... 6 euro... that's almost a whole packs worth. :(
And theres no way I'm going back out there to freeze my arse off just for the guy to say "change? huh?" ... my jaw is still thawing.
So yeah, my new-years-eve day/morning is officially ruined on account of a moment of complete stupidity and general dog-walking-related distraction.
Damn people, always ruining my... eh... holidays... n' stuff.

Have always got on with the other two. They've been going out with each other since I've known them (about 8 years) so we go way back.

Its just here cousin. We lived on the same estate years ago when we were kids. He was always "strange" but even more so now.

If we could ditch them we would but cause its my friends cousin I dont think we can!

Was stuck babysitting a miserable boring cousin one new years eve a few years ago. She walked around like there was a bad smell and didn't bother trying to be nice to anybody. Just got really drunk and went with the flow can't spend your time pleasing everybody.

Its 5 in the morning cant we all get along!

Another thing ruining this holiday is the offer powering smell of sulphur when you use the hot watter tap especially when you are drunk and or have a hang over.

Try having a shower after a night out. It isnt easy!

sulphur in the water is the last thing you would expect in a country slap bang on a tectonic fault line.

you need to reasses your friends. especially the cousin's bf.

When I was in the US we travelled basically non-stop the whole three weeks, ended up going absolutely mental because the family insisted on playing Dido's album the majority of the time, also spent I'd estimate half the holiday in a crowded mpv too hot etc. Didn't enjoy a holiday that should have been one of the best. Ah heck.

Get your facts right. Sulphur is in the water due to the volcanic activity in the area. California is along a fault line and doesn’t suffer the same problem.:(

Read the post again. Its my friends cousin

Any chance you could tell the offenders that they are completely ruining something you have been looking forward to? response depending, I'd have my bags packed in case. You don't need friends like that.

We've tried having words with him but there is no talking to him. If he wasnt my friends cousin I'd be kicked out a long time ago.

I suppose you have tried having words with your friend about his cousin?
This is probably suggested by someone else. I've some catching up to do! ;)

    What?

At best, I understand half of what you've written here.

"the girl I am staying with cousin"
    The girl is your cousin?
The girl has a cousin who is visiting?
    The cousin is your mate?
    The girl is your mate?
The cousin is the one who you expected to be up for it?
The girl is the one you expected to be up for it?

Who is who in this scenario?

"knocked into him yesterday and knocked offer his XBox"

The unidentified person bumped into the drunk accident victim and
    a) Stole his XBox
    b) Hit him with the XBox
    c) Offered to buy the XBox

    Which one is it?
    Any other horror stories?

    Your attempts at communication.

Oooh, a scathing Anne Robinson style attack from Slutmonkey!
It had to be said though, I still don't know what happened to the xbox myself... although you could have just taken the high road and inferred that you've slept with his mother.

    4 people involved.
    Me
    Bman
    Ste
    Karen.

I traveled with Bman who is Karens cousin.

Ste is going out with Karen.

Ste has his arm in a sling. Bman walked in to him banged in to his arm. At the same time he knocked over his xbox.

Why did they get an Xbox if they are travelling the world?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,600 ✭✭✭Slutmonkey57b

Ah! it all makes perfect sense now.

    Bman is a dickhead.
You are, however, in Iceland, which means you can trek up a glacier, and tell him if he doesn't behave you'll throw him in a hot spring and leave him there.

I reckon the only thing you can do is tell them to cop on, that it's a holiday and they should start enjoying themselves and stop wasting their time. Go out, go to a club or somethin, and have a bloody good night. Do it. If ya want.

His family came over and brought it over for him. He has a game cube and power book as well!

He likes his gaming and pc.

Sorry about the first post. It was late!
