i ordered 400 pounds worth of stuff from dabs last year with no problems and i've been recommending them to everyone but they pissed me right off this time. i ordered 100 pounds worth of stuff about dec 10th and its been awaiting card authorisation since then (800 euro limit). they emailed me asking me to confirm my name and address about three weeks ago which i did. then i heard nothing. the only way i could find to contact them was a feedback form so i wrote to them twice basically saying wtf. i got no reply. one of the things was supposed to be a christmas present btw.

then i went on about ten minutes ago and the orders been cancelled! they didn't even have the courtesy to email me and tell me. i rang the bank and they said there's no record of dabs at all, i.e. they never even checked my name and address.

the upshot is i went to svp.co.uk, got the stuff 5 euro cheaper, they took the money no problem according to customer care and i emailed dabs telling them to fuk off and if they don't want my money i'll give it to someone else.

had the same problem, but I expect it was my fault to begin with -- wasnt enough credit limit; but I was rather pissed that they canceled the order without any notice at all.

hmm im not convinced that dabs have gone bad

your order was probably flagged as "possible fraud", thats why you got the security check, which is were your order ended, did you send the right stuff?

Have a similar problem. Ordered a gaming router - used my moms credit card and added my self as a contact. Got an email from them saying that I need to confirm credit cards holders address and shipping address. Confirmed. Get an email saying that I need to "update the contact address (card registered address) that you have set for yourself on our website." Fixed it. It was sent the next day or so.

Now have trouble with parcelforce. Dabs sent it off on 22nd. Relavent tracking parts:

    28-12-2005 11:14 Addressee to collect
    28-12-2005 10:41 Parcel in warehouse
    28-12-2005 10:40 Addressee on holiday
28-12-2005 10:34 Arrived at destination country

They even did not try to deliver it! They just said I'm on holiday and want me to come and pick it up! The worst is that they are not replying to my email - and I can't find where their depot is in dublin on their website.

I'm gonna avoid dabs.co.uk and parcelforce like a plague. Nothing but trouble.

I had a similar problem. I sent back an MP3 player that was DOA expecting a replacement to be sent back to me (i had to pay return shipping) but instead they just refunded the money i paid for the mp3 player. Course i didn't realise this til i got the credit card bill. So when i went to complain, they had stopped stocking that particular MP3 player, and i ended up having to place a new order for a different model i didn't want and pay another lot of shipping.

    arg dabs

    well i ordered stuff

i was asked to go reenter my credit details as they said i hadnt i could of sworn i did

then i got a e-mail saying i had enter'd incorrect details , so i went back and redone them

then i was told i had reentered the incorect details again . at this stage i got fed up of them telling me that i had the wrong address.

a week or so after i saw a thread on boards with three others saying the same thing as me . if you do a search for it im sure you will find it without much hassel .

imo they dont want irish customers. since my transaction my uncle had the same experience and so did another friend of mine .

id rather play more for a item and know ill get it without hassel then pay less and spend 2 weeks filling out the same forums over and over

I found them incredibly stringent in relation to paying by credit card. I felt like I was talking to a robot when I got replies to my email [and I don't think they were automated].

Eventually sorted it all out and found them to be quite good.

once they sent one of my orders to Liverpool, then cancelled the order (excluding the delivery cost...) without informing us.

They are without a doubt one of the worst companies in the world to have to deal with, and I'd only ever use them if it was for something that no one else had, which in saying that, elara and komplett have a far better specialist range than them these days.

When DABS are good, you've at the wrong URL, when they're bad... my god!
