My peculiar form of collecting involves egg cups, all shapes, all sizes, all ages. I have recently discovered that this form of collecting is called 'Pocillovy'. I thought madness was just around the corner when I clicked onto a website called "Egg Cup Collectors Of The World". I was saved, there were other madmen out there I could share my obsession with. Anybody out there with a few egg cups to spare?.

I have just caught the bug. It started about 6 months ago and now I have 33 very nice egg cups. I started collecting only those with LEGS and now am expanding into any egg cup that is made by Royal ?.
    Great fun.

Just lately I've started collecting Royal Daulton Bunnykins egg cups, mainly via Ebay, and am trying to learn as much as possible along the way. I'm surprised that something as popular ar Doulton does not have much info' available. For instance, how many diffferent shapes are there? How many different designs? I've searched the net and my local library to no avail.

I recently bought a pair of wooden cups. Noddy and Big ears. Unfortunately Noddy did not enjoy the trip and arrived split in two. Big Ears survived and I'm on the hunt for a replacement Noddy and a Mr Plod.:D

Hello Frankell. Bunnykins eggcups: There are three main shapes starting from 1937. The first shape has a flared top and a narower base. The second shape is of the pedistal variety. The third and current shape has straight sides and a is shamfered at the base.
Bunnykins eggcups transfers: there are thirteen transfers used on the eggcups, two on each eggcup, on oposiite sides. That makes for each eggcup shape a possible 78 variations. On the first shape at the start of production at leat two other transfers are known to have been used but ther are rare occurences. Regards Lawrie18.

    Hi Patrice,

thans for your post. It would be great of you could start a picture thread with some of your cups here as well and give some info on each cups' history etc.

There are so many eggcups and so little time. :) Please check my web page first. I could answer individual questions, if I can, but posting all you have suggested would be another book's worth.

    Hi,

no I don't propose to post all the cups. ;) I rather meant it as an introduction thread with some nice pics and info and then link to your webpage. It may be a good way in getting more people interested.
