    Hi All

I made a post on this before and thanx for all you advice - My Dad has loads of old slides and I would love to have them transfered to cd for him - Without going to the trouble myself with scanners ect is there any place that would do it for me ?

www.pixels.ie advertise a slide to CD service but don't mention price on their website. I'd guess it would be around a Euro a slide.

I've seen prices around 60p from sites in the UK, and prices up to €2.50 per slide here in Ireland, it all seems very variable. The place in the UK even had different prices for different resolutions and whether or not digital ICE (removal of dust specks on the image) was used. That having been said, the likelihood is that even a local shop here will end up sending them off somewhere else for processing, and if these slides are valuable, even if only from a personal perspective, I'd be a bit wary.

Anyway, like we said last time if you have, say, a couple of hundred slides or more, the self-scan route is always going to be waaaay cheaper.
