I've used the x2vga+ with good results but not the vdigi. You need to use an NTSC eeprom or the enigma videomode switchdisc app to convert the xbox to the american region before either will work.

Imainlyplay ntsc games anyway, and already have the eeprom set to ntsc.

Have the vdigi ordered, so will report back on its setup.

Can't wait to take advantage of 720p

    hey zabbo

where did you order the vdigi from? coz i have a vga box but its a cheapo one and the colours blend into each other. looking to get a new one.

how much does it cost incl postage?

    Bought from http://www.vdigi.com/

Should take 2 weeks to arrive, think it cost around 50 euro, whatever price is on the website.

From reading reviews and forums, these seem to be the only 2 boxes worth using.

http://www.x2vga.com/ are out of stock, x2vga only works with xbox, whereas vdigi works with ps2 and gamecube, and anything with component outputs.

List of hd games here - http://www.hdtvarcade.com/xboxlist.htm

That's really just a line doubler which adds scan-lines in between the normal AV (TV) output lines to give a poor quality VGA picture. The Vdigi and x2vga allow you to use the progressive scan modes in games that support it so no line doubler is needed and you'll see much improved graphics, colours and framerate. Halo2 looks really good in 480P mode which is the most basic progressive scan mode but a lot of games support 720P which is even better again.

Well the vd-z3 came, roughly 7 days after i ordered it. Hooked it up to the 19" widescreen TFT and setup was fairly easy.

I had to update the m$ dash to avail of certain video modes, switched to NTSC and enabled 480p and 720p. Most of my games are NTSC and work lovely in 480p (racing games look awesome), some of the PAL games i have don't work (GTA:SA i think) and some games lose an inch or two with black borders(480i games). Still trying to make 720p games fill the screen, there are a few settings to change this, i only have two or three 720p capable games. All in all, the thing is feckin awesome and I'm wondering why I've had an xbox 2 years and not using this. If i can find a digicam, I'll post up some pics

There's now a USA distributor for the VD-Z3! Check out:

    http://www.datapro.net/products/CSV-955A.html

When you add ground shipping, the cost is about the exact same as from China, but the delivery is much faster.

I've had a VD-Z3 for a few years now (I bought mine directly from Vdigi during one of those periods that their site was working) and the results are spectacular. Really sharp, clear, colorful images; the output looks like it's from a real VGA source. I convinced my company to carry these. :)
