Does anyone else have the same problem as me- invisible cheekbones?! I'VE LEARNED HOW TO FAKE THE SCULPTED LOOK!

Ok, apply foundation as normal, using a shade as close to your skin tone as possible. (Maybelline Matte Mousse is great for those on a budget, MAC Studiofix is pricier but good for combination to oily skin). Next, suck in your cheeks, and apply a slightly darker powder in the contours under the apples of your cheeks with a medium sized good quality brush (from NARS, MAC or Bobbi Brown- I find these the best). For the powder, I suggest any of Pout's powders, or for a cheaper product, Rimmel. Next, apply a natural looking peach blush in a sweeping motion over where cheekbones SHOULD be seen and lightly sweep up to outside of eyes (please be careful that it doesn't turn out like 2 pink bananas on your face). Finally, use an illuminator (MAC Strobe Cream or Vero Moda's highlighter) on upper part of apples of cheeks.

To lengthen or thin a rounded face, use a little bit of highligther on your chin. To finish, dust your whole face with a translucent powder, et voila! Fabulous ckeekbones!!

The look isn't orange at all, unless someone trying it uses an awful foundation... reminds me of these little girls in Dubes that flounce towards BT2...

Don't mind them, I just tried it there and I have to say, it's working wonders for me, I owe you!;)

Ok. start by applying a lip balm (Pout's green one preferably) to soften lips. Next aplly a light, peach coloured lipstick (MAC is great)with a brush, one coat only. Now line lips with a liner a hint of a shade darker than the lipstick (Body Shop). Go easy, we don't want to look like Jordan, do we girls?! Finally, apply a little shimmery gloss (also MAC) to the centre of your bottom lip and blend, and to the cupid's bow on your upper lip, et voila! Kissable lips without collagen!!

oh must try this out-just quick ques-when you say a darker powder under the cheeks what do you mean-a sort of bronzer or what?

Nope, just a powder a shade or two darker than your foundation. Or if you're stuch, a little bronzer mixed with moisturiser to town it down.

Hey people, stick to the make-up tips in this thread. You don't agree with wearing make-up? Guess what - it's completely irrelevant to the thread. :v:

Here here, why do female advise threads often turn into an "I'm too cool for makeup" "why so much makeup" borefest.

Tip: Never underestimate the power of touche eclait, a white eyeliner and brown mascara for a hangover. Foolproof! Stock up for New Yrs day I say!

also to add: if you fill the outter corners of your lips with lip liner this will create an effect that makes the centre of your lips look fuller. Just make sure you blend! And if you add a tiny bit of shimmery eyeshadow to above the cupid's bow this also helps make them fuller.

With getting cheekbones, you can use either a slightly darker foundation or a powder like D4Lady said. To find where the shadow should go suck your cheeks in and where the line is created is where the shadow should go. If you're still not sure, find you're cheekbone, lay your finger along it and slide it down to the dent underneath. This is where the shadow should be.

Its all about highlighting and shading like in art class. Just remember to blend.

Makeup should be about enhancing your beauty not covering it up, so less is more!

Just wanted to recommend Bobbi Brown's makeup books - the tips reminded me of how good the books are. They're in most libraries I'd say ... but you'll probably want to buy it for reference :)

Thank God I was born with high cheekbones! :p

Kevyn Aucoin's first book was wondeful... the second one was all right but there were too many "let's make THIS celebrity up to look like THAT one!" pages for my liking. I was shocked when he passed away. Must look for that NARS one, what's it like deedee?!

NARS one is fab. He shows you barefaced 'before' photo and then there is a translucent page that shows where he put what make-up on the face and then an 'after' picture. It shows the different techniques using different colours. :)
