Got Cube

I bought a Micro Cube yesterday. After all the talk about them on these here boards I thought it was worth checking one out.

I was given a voucher for Waltons at Christmas and had nothing else to spend it on. I needed a small practice amp for our quiet rehearsals anyway.

The bass player has a 15 watt Behringer amp that sounds really nice. I thought there was no way that the micro cube with its 2 watt output would be up to the task.

Anyway. Bass player had his 15 watter up full boar and i had to turn the cube DOWN to well below half its volume. Sure the low end sounds of a bass amp are in a different spectrum but this was pretty amazing.

There are some great sounds in this little beauty but i decided to keep it on one of the clean channels and use my OD pedal for dirt.

Have to say im very impressed by this little amp.

I tried recording it this morning by going direct out into the desk. The results are not out of this world but they are impressive and very usable.

The size of the little beast is great too. its tiny but packs a punch. it would be simply ideal for busking as its easy to carry around.

Seriously. If you are looking for a practice amp, spend the little bit extra and buy a Micro Cube.
