modem hijacker help

I recently got infected with a modem hijacker after clicking on a website to order a ringtone for my mobile phone.

It is trying to dial either a 0043 (Austrian no.) or a 0044871 (UK no.) and also trying to change my username and password - which I think I have prevented from happening so far.

Have tried to remove whatever it is that is trying to change my dialup no. with AVG Antivirus and F-Secure Anti-Spyware and Anti-Adware and also Microsoft Malware Remover latest edition.

For now I have downloaded the Modem Protection program from BT Ireland - as they are my ISP - this is preventing the number actually being changed and dialled up, but a few minutes ago, I was still alerted that something was trying to change the dialup no.

Is there anything that will remove the cause permanently - it is just annoying more than anything?

    Any advice greatly appreciated...

id assume it must be a hidden service, my mate went onto a ringtone site also and it downloaded a dialer, but since im on BB it doesnt make a difference, Mcafee PIP found it and deleted it.
I think it was called kdialer.

Try MSCONFIG in your run command and if you see any services that you have not seen before disable them and note the file location
also empty you temp internet files and your cookies.

Thanks Sparky-s...I deleted my temp internet files and cookies. Ran MSconfig - couldnt tell if something was there that shouldnt be.

Also searched for kdialer, kdial to no avail.

Am just waiting to see if it happens again...so far so good...
