Monoblock query

Will the following setup work: installing a monoblock [primarily aligned to 13degSSE, offset aligned to 19.2degSSE], connecting it to tuner 1 of my box, looped through to tuner 2 -- will the box treat these inputs as almost two separate inputs, even though a monoblock is being used? Will DiSEqC help me here or get in the way?

I'm too lazy to install two LNBs on a bracket siz degrees apart. Will the one on satellite.ie work on a 90 cm Fortec Star dish url]http://www.maplin.co.uk/Search.aspx?criteria=A11FB&doy=28m12&source=15[/URL. Or would I be better off motorising with USALS with the HH120? How easy [or, moreso, difficult] is it to set this up?

Many thanks for any replies.

Firstly, it's not clear what you're actually trying to achieve. Is this the Topfield PVR you're trying to connect up? With 13E into one tuner and 19E into the other?

If so, then you'll need 2 separate cables to the 2 outputs on the monoblock - you can't share 2 sats on one coax simultaneously - unless you invest in a stacker/destacker.

I think you are talking about the triax multi lnb holder. If that will not work you need a universal holder

This would suit your fortec 90 and most other dishes.

I think the LNB arm will be better than a monoblock to keep things simple. Here's a [disgraceful] diagram of what I was attempting to do. Will have to mount satellite on the boiler house as the neighbour's trees are very tall.

Don't think I'll be bothering with stackers and destackers, Zaphod. Thanks for clearing that up.
Thanks for that link and info, Satworld. Exactly what I was on about.

A monobloc often has only one output with switching done internally.

To feed several satellite receivers for different satellites the brackets and separate LNB is way to go.

Diseqc switch is to feed several LNB to one receiver only.

I can post link to a photo if you need it

Good sugestion watty but you can alson get lnbs in twins and quads or monoblocks in twins or quads.

I blame the manufacturer for inserting diagrams like mine, misleading novices.

I'm sure it'll be great fun aligning two LNBs at once. Picked up an article from "Digital Satellite Choice" from some time last year [an unsuccessful spin-off from "What Satellite and Digital TV", I believe]. It recommends aligning to Hotbird first and then Astra 1 and not be tricked by the fact that Astra will actually be to the left from behind dish [true?].

Many thanks for the clarifications. Better go -- on dial-up.

I'd line up Astra 19 on the arm and then adjust the 2nd LNB to east for Hotbird. Makes it easier to add Sky later.

See this old pic of mine:
http://homepage.eircom.net/~watty/satellite/sathowto-p6.htm

I have replaced all three LNBs now and used real metal bolts etc!

The LNB for Sky is now a Quad (free from Sky, the mini-dish adaptor screws off). The Hotbird and Astra 19E LNBs are now cheap Philips Universals for Digital.

The orginal was a Sky box and two analog receivers. Now three feeds go to a 4 way Diseqec switch (to PC Sat card). Another two sky feeds feed a pair of Digiboxes and one Sky feed is currently spare.

Cheers for that link. Nice setup. Information overload on the rest of the site! ;)

Already have a 65 cm single LNB aligned to 28.2/28.5 deg on the far side of house. Never gives any trouble either, luckily.
