TCM: PIN protected film.... ?

Odd one this, raised by my sister, of all people......

She's trying to watch Bull Durham on TCM (327), a harmless enough baseball film with Kevin Costner... but its PIN protected.

I've tried it here in Dublin, and its the same. You can't view the film without inserting the PIN, it works once you put it in.

Its an 18 rated film, but I dont have PIN protection for 18 rated films on any of my Sky boxes.

    Odd?

Just thought I'd lt you know, this happened a while back to me for about half an hour on something they've shown a hundred times - some Clint Eastwood movie, probably was The Outlaw Josey Wales or Hang 'em High.

Couldn't find any way around it - e.g. removing viewing card, unplugging box, letting it cool - the usual suspects to get a Sky Box behaving normally.

this seems to happen alot on tcm, its like they have got their watershed system mixed up, as its 9pm afaik on sky movies, because its encrypted, maybe tcm have it at 10 because they used to be FTA and never rectified this.

    My 2 cents.

Since the last software upgrade, if your box is set to block adult programming it will ask for a pin for adult rated programming. check your setup.

Yes, it appears that 18 films at 9pm are PIN protected.
    Daft.

Check original post. I have all restrictions turned off. When that software came down, and it blocked access to "other channels" menu, it came off fairly lively! But it appears this is a relic?

It does it even if your box is set not to block any programming.

Because it does not do it all the time, could also be that I do not have a regular viewing card so it might be configured differently.
