I have a bit of a problem with playing Generals Zero Hour multiplayer accross a Wireless LAN. When the game starts, about 5 seconds in you get a message that says "The game is detected a mismatch, and has lost syncronization", or something along those lines

Can anybody help me out on this because I am totally confused.

And BTW the serial numbers for the CD's are different and I don't think it is the IP adress because AFAIK it gets the IP address itself

One might be patched to a different version? try dl'ing the latest patches for all systems involved.

Out of Sync errors are caused with diffrence in the game folders, make sure your both patched to the same version, that you both have no MODs running, and that neither of you are running a noCD hack, noCD's will cause OOS errors even if you both use them.

Well, the both computers are running NoCD cracks, but before this I had two other PC's that were running the NoCD cracks but it worked fine.

There are 4 computers on this network, and one wireless router. Only 3 of these computers are used for Generals. The computer that is connected to the router is the one that is not being used. Computer 1 + 2 work together fine. But its computer 1 + 3 that is having the problem, so it concludes that the newest computer, on which Generals was only installed the other day on, is the computer with the problem.

Is there a way around this NoCD crack problem with multiplayer??? But I am still pretty sure that this is not the problem. Anyone any thoughts on this???

I have just ran Generals and played multiplayer with computer 3 + 2 and get the error message and with all of them, 1+2+3 I get the error message on all.

I went into options on each computer and didn't notice anything out of the ordinary except for the fact that at the very bottom of the options window it says "Version 1.xx". On computer 1 it says Version 1.0, on computer 2 it says Version 1.0, and on computer three (the one with the problem) it says Version 1.00 (with two decimal places, while the others only have 1).

I know that is a very small problem but I am thinking that it could mean something. Anybody have any conclusions?

EDIT: BTW all the computers have the NoCD crack, but I don't think that that is the problem because PC 1 + 2 work fine, both have cracks, so I am lost :?

Its OK now I got it....

The problem was that all the computers had the NoCD hack but computer 3 had a different one so I just d'loaded the same one and now it is working grand

    Thanks for the help anyway

Hello, ive found a solution which works with me.

It doesnt matter if one is on the wireless and other is connected with cable.
Its mainly your map structure, the other person needs to have this game installed in the same folders as on your computer.
It needs the latest update and if u use a No CD exe, you should both use the same for the latest update.

Then you should allow generals as an exception in your firewall and anti-virus
( this mainly causes the mismatch )
If that doesnt work switch your firewall and anti-virus off.
You should also be on the same workgroup if you are playing local.

    Hope this works for you.
