Okay bf2 seems to be freezing at the verifying client data, now it does load eventually but it can take upwards of 8 minutes and that doesnt include the inital texture & sounds etc loading time. Anyone else have this problem our any solution to it?

go into this folder and delete everything in it :- C:\Documents and Settings\whatever your name is \My Documents\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2\cache\

seems as thought your BF2 screen seetings in your old card ar clashing with the new one !

after delete restart or defrag Bf2! it will then adjust the shaders ectr for your new card !

if not you updated your Nvidia drivers ?

    http://www.tweakguides.com/BF2_1.html

"Clearing Shader Optimizations: When you change the graphical settings BF2 attempts to optimize the shaders used in the game for the best performance on your particular hardware. These optimized files are stored in your \Documents and Settings\[username]\My Documents\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2\cache\ directory. If you've changed your settings several times, I recommend you finalize your changes, close BF2, go to the above directory and delete everything under the \cache\ directory. The next time you start the game and play single or multiplayer, your shaders will be optimized again. Close BF2 one more time, defragment your hard drive, and now things should be much smoother and load much faster the next time you go to play BF2."

worked perfect for me ! and I added the new drivers too after the clearing of the cache....... ;-)

Well i dnt think its this either because ive reinstalled my entire machine about 3 times in the last 2 months and the last one was just over a week ago, so everything was deleted and re-installed including bf2, gfx drivers and patches and ive never actually changed my gfx settings. Thanks anyway drapper :D

I gotta 6600 GT & 2gb ram too. Loads ok but "recently" crashes randomly. No idea why whole system freeze's. Them windows system errors say its sumfin to do wif nvidia graphics drivers. Downloadin the new 81.98 drivers now see if makes any difference.

Bern, it hates o'clocking too so you can only use Bf2 at the cards native speeeds! make sure you completltey delete the old drivers too and registery entries for Nvidia !

Im glad its not just me who has this problem...I have tried all manner of site fixes and forums on this and it all comes around to the same ole thing ... " patch " I actually went around to my dads house to try it on his new PC and it did exactly the same and he is running ATi x800 with 1gb ram and 3.2ghz P4..
Those lovely people at EA owe me about 5 hrs of missed action and an officers star GRRRRRRRRRR...Laterz

HAd the same with my old system, it all started after i put in an extra hd. Basically it was'nt the driver, it was the power in the system, the system could'nt handle the extra hd and so the card suffered. I used get the driver error after the BF2 reboot. another thing make sure, you have a power connector going directly into the card, not onto an adapter which power the card and sumfin else. i found video cards don't like that.

Will try that. Seems to be workin ok now with write combining disabled though but still get the odd crash. Dunno if mighta damaged card or sumfin. Gotta reinstall windows now cuz apparently file missing. No BF tonight looks like :(

    try going to C:\Documents and Settings\My Documents\Battlefield 2\LogoCache

select all the folders in here and delete them from time to time as well, helps speed up loading for some reason apparently

Okay so this problem seems to be affecting more than just me, i havent found a solution to it yet but servers that originate from Denmark and Germany seem to load perfect for me where as other servers load then freeze for like 5 mins and then load grand, until the map change and the same crap happens again.
