Her tune

The strum hits the silence
Like a fist hits a wall,
Deep gasp of last breath
Before it begins
The coins fall deep into the case
He nods.
She dances to the left,
Dances to the right
Slow and merciful
With her cool fluidity.
Her hair, dark as coal
Falls on her pale skin
And her feet tap
On the cold cement ground.
The sorrowful tune
that his fingers ache to play
Echoes around to the silent room.
Until the end.
He stops, now alone except for her.
She dances a final step,
for him, for those others.
And disappears from sight.
The last strum plays.

Busking= Street Performance, i.e: Guitar playing, comedy acts, think London Tube.
