when you say import, what do u mean?
i dont think u can copy songs from an mp3 player to the 360, but you can rip cd's on to it.
i hooked up an ipod to it,usb connection went to the dashboard then media, it listed of all my songs and playlists

i thaught it would be like any other pc, connect to usb wait for it to recognise and rip music from the player onto the hard drive

no, i think its because of copyright, wont let you keep copying songs
but you can listen to them while playing (i havnt tried that yet)

    weedhead:

We had the same problem yesterday. You need to upgrade the firmware on your player to the latest version before the xbox will recognise it.

on a slightly related note, apple are pissed off ipod's can connect to 360's, as microsoft never asked if they could allow for this to happen. court case pending. if it goes through it's likely creative, iriver, sony and so on will follow suit.

i'd link to a news story if i was arsed :D

Not really because the court case is over Apple using the iPods data port, which is proprietary to Apple iPods.Any of the Creatives or iRivers I know of just use a mini USB port.

Apple recently made manufacturers pay for the use of the data port, how recently I cant remember but its in the last 6 months, now 360 hardware is in dev more than 6 months, but the software may be a different kettle of fish.

the bigger creative zen's and irivers use different types of port to the mini-usb thing too. not sure about sony's stuff though

The Creative and iRiver just use another type of miniUSB, there at least 4 types that I know of.

I guess its a fairly common one.
