OMG! Did you see what happened, that poor jockey, he won't live that down for a long time.

In case anyone missed it Jockey of Central house had made all & won the race but mistaken the finish line & started celebrating early & slowed to actually finish 3rd, such an unfortunate error but that's no good to connections of CH & supporters...

i'm not so sure & don't really want to take this position but i must say it's not asking too much to expect a jockey to know where the finish line is...

I think there are two finishing lines and he got mixed up which one was in use for that race. I just noticed what looks like 2 lines so Im not sure

Absolutely there are two, i only mean it seems like basic info to check which one your racing to!

well yes he is a jockey and you would expect alot more from a professional jockey. but hes a young jockey who has made a mistake, is already paying the price for it, and will do so for long time more.

his three weeks holidays wont be the worst he'll have to endure.

Theres a lot at stake in a sport like this so you're right it shouldn't happen

it showed on rte two the distance from where he finished and where he should have finished and it made it look a huge blunder.

In leopardstown there is only 1 finishing post, however there is a rail which serarates the chase and hurdle course and i think he thought the end of the rail was the post.A genuine mistake, however having ridden there before he should have known better.
On another note it was a shame to see moscow flyer well beaten in fourth.

Very hard on everybody involved with the horse and fair play to Dessie Hughes who inside must have been fuming but publically "stood by" his jockey and said he would keep the mount. Its no secret that this horse was the main reason why he (Loughran) turned pro so it was a disasterous day all round.
