just wondering was playing a few days ago and was dealt 33..
Villian bets 300(blinds were 25-50) and i call the other two folded..
Flop comes up k63 giving me trips on the 3.

He checks and i check back to check trap him.
Next card is an A he checks again and i bet 300 he calls
next card is a 9 he bets small i i think about it and call all in... he calls

He had trips on the A

Was this bad play or not? he tried to check trap me back with the nuts the other two told me it was stupid to risk my chips early on but i disagree..

was wondering what other ppl would do in the same situation... if i had gone alkl in after the flop he still would have called and had the same amount of chips as it was the 3rd hand dealt

I think you played it well bar the all in on the river. you were unlucky to run in to a higher set. but i presume you put him on AK/Ax?

When villain raises 6 times the BB preflop you're not getting enough value to call with 33 in the hopes of hitting a set.
If you call preflop then bet the flop, underbet the turn hoping to get raised. Try to get all-in by the river.
