Just played this hand,

and i lke to mix it up a little pre flop so i made a small raise. you can see what followed,

He floped a straight but slow played it and let me catch another 8. Since he didnt raise after teh flop i didnt out him on a hand, i attached some of the game chat that followed below the HH

You were unlucky to hit the 3rd 8. He allowed weaker hands to hit when he has the nuts, exactly what he intended to happen from giving a free card.

He was unlucky for you to make a house on the river.

I can't imagine I would play either of these hands differently except maybe your call preflop.

He was an idiot for checking a flopped straight into a raised pot with 4 people.
