    Hi, Can anyone recommend a good anti virus/pop up remover package ?

    I have been away for months and my PC has been used by users who
    arent fully aware of the dangers of rogue software.

    Basically I keep getting these pop-ups advertising wallpapers with
    semi-clas women (no porn popups YET, but it's heading that way )
    I removed all the dodgy software that I didn;t install , "WhatUSave",
    "internet optimiser" etc.

    How can this software install can it just install itself if you are connected ?

    Also as well as these can you recommend a good firewall package ?
    IF they are free great, but I'm willing to pay 30 Euro for a program I can trust,

    If googled it but some of the anti-spyware stuff looks dodgy itself !
    I dont know what to trust, Any help appreciated.

    There are some dodgy "anti-spyware" available alright..

    Best solution:
    AVG Free (Free, unsuprisingly) = anti-virus;

    Spybot Search & Destroy (Free) and Ad-Aware SE (Free) = anti-spyware
    [it's best to install at least two packages tbh];

    and an slightly older Kerio (Used to be free,but somewhat limited) , or Sygate (Free,but somewhat limited) = Firewall.

    I'd also recommend installing Firfox (And adding the NoScript and AdBlock extensions).
