Trouble buying a new guitar! Help.

    I'm new to playing and made a topic a while ago on another board and got some very helpful tips so I thought I would chance my luck again. I was looking on the net and found a guitar I like- Epiphone G400 which is an SG. Now my problem is that when I go to the music store to order it they say "SG? Well do you want a beginners, intermediate or what?". This is a good store but they don't seem to know model numbers and stuff. The beginners is cheap enough but just because its labelled beginners means to me it's crap, also it might be the one thats plain red without the black scratchboard *shudders*.
    I trailed off there but they are my thoughts and heres the question-
    Does anyone know what the beginner model, intermediate etc. are? I'm hoping someone here has gotten an SG before and might know the actual models of these so I can make a decision! I hope that all makes sense.

    just say you want an Epiphone SG and say what colour you'd like it in.. The people in this store must be ****ing retards.
