So many cars for sale on the side of the road. They seem to be all boy racers or executive cars. It happend alot during the summer, now i notice
its happening again, about 60 to 70 cars with a for sale sign?

I suppose these drivers cant afford to run them, they must making a loss
on their sale? The signwriting alone must cost a fortune?

Its a cheap way of selling a car, not sure how paratical it is, most folks are zooming past on thier way to somewhere, not thinking about buying a car.

Well, how much do you think a dealer is going to give you for a 'boy racer' car ... Feck all. Same could be said for any car tbh.

You can earn a lot more selling it privatly. 'Side of the road' is a more economical way of selling a car as there are little costs involved, although for all we know the car could also be online/B&S/etc

Don't know how effective of a selling method it is tbh...

You'd want to be very careful about buying off the side of the road like this as a lot of these cars are either crashed and repaired poorly or worse still, stolen and using identity's from written-off cars. Remember if you run into a problem with one of these cars you'll have no comeback. What may seem like a bargain usually turns into a nightmare.

hhmmm.. I was looking at a car recently that I had seen on both CruiseIRL and autotrader, and when I went to view it was a "side of the read" jobbie. Kind of put me off a bit. But then again there are lots about these days, and yes, it's a handy way to sell. I guess if a mechanic looks over the car, and it's ok, then the car should be fine? Best not to totally write it off because it was a side of the read seller?

Some of these people think that if they spend €2k doing up a €5k car that it will be worth €7k. When it comes time to sell, they get upset at how little they're offered as trade in anywhere and usually resort to buy and sell, cbg, autotrader as well as the 'on car advertising'.

To the best of my knowledge, it's illegal under casual trading legislation to have a for sale sign on your car at the side of the road.

Many seem to think that the modified cars is a new growing market and will tell you that these mods add thousands to the value of cars. I can't see it myself.

I think some boy racers put those for sale stickers on them cos they think they are cool. Everyone else has one so I better get one too! I know of 2 cars that have had them for at least a year.
