    It will work and look very cool, but at end of day unless v. HD will give poorer & smaller 4:3 pictures than a Philips, sony, Mitsunbishi 28" 4:3 TV, also all of those give a true WS animorphic picture with auto 16:9 switching, similar size to 27" WS TV. Cost under 300 Euro now if you can find one.

    If it is in a corner it doesn't take any more room space than LCD.

    If it did UXGA or 1080 line HD TV then it is very good value also as a PC / Console / X360 /PS3 screen. A bit small for HD TV watching.

    But 1280 x 720 is only USA/Japan entry level HD. Europe is 1080 line.
    Still very nice on a XBox 360 or PS3. Some PC Graphics cards can do this resolution and adapting even from analog VGA to whatever connections the screen has (HDMI likely) is easy.
