    1945.....

Some boxing, plenty of Judo and some Captain Kirkian chops thrown in
    the mix!!!

The fight scenes in Blood on the Sun all involve judo. Cagney trained in
the art extensively and even kept it up in his private life, writing in his
memoirs, "I grew so fond of judo I used to keep in shape with it until a
back injury I picked up doing something else put me on the sidelines."

Cagney's judo instructor was a former L.A. cop named John Halloran, who
in the film has a small role as Japanese "Captain Oshima." (In a sign of the
paranoia of wartime America, Halloran resigned from the LAPD after the
police commission sent FBI agents to investigate him because his favorite
    sport was judo.)

    The striking was cr@p!

But he gave a good judo show :D

I saw him on a documentary a few weeks ago dancing with Bob Hope!!

He was also a great dancer!!

Funny how he seemed to be remembered more for the Mob and hard guy roles?

That's absolutely quality. I love the hip throw into scarf hold in the middle, and the Kirk chops are class. Where are you getting these old school clips from? Wherever it is, check for the Captain Kirk vs. Green rubber alien fight from the original Star Trek series. :D:D

whats really good about it is that all the camera shots are from a good distance away so that you see the full moves.

Today's hollywood moive fights are shot much to close and miss most of the action!!

Check out Spencer Tracy in "Bad Day At Black Rock" he's got some moves for a one armed guy!
Allegedly when Borgnine gets thrown by Spencer there is a reel change and the fight resumes with Bruce Tegner?
