    Extremely sad :(
    Daughter Battered To Death

    Updated: 16:49, Thursday December 22, 2005
A school adviser has been jailed for life for torturing and murdering his three-month-old daughter because he thought she was possessed.
Sitab Ullah, of Maida Vale, north-west London, left baby Samira with more than 100 injuries, including cigarette burns and broken ribs.
The 26-year-old battered his daughter after he started taking heroin and crack cocaine and became paranoid, the Old Bailey heard.
Judge Stephen Kramer told Ullah that he would spend at least 20 years in prison, adding: "You abused your role as a father."
The premature baby, who weighed only 8lbs, died on October 16 last year from head injuries, after her skull was smashed into a hard surface, possibly a wall.
The court was told that her wrists and ankles were twisted and torn as she was swung around and shaken.
Ullah was a community worker at North Westminster sixth form college in Paddington, west London, where he worked closely with police.
He was trusted enough to be allowed to sit in on interviews as an "appropriate adult" chaperoning Bangladeshi youngsters at police stations.
His lawyers had argued that the death of his father made him turn to drugs - but he was found guilty of murder on Wednesday.
His wife Salma Begum pleaded guilty to child neglect.
She was jailed for 15 months but was let out immediately because she has been in custody for the equivalent of two years.

Some people seem to be having trouble with links, this ones ok though.
Its about the junkie father who killed his 3mth old daughter. he was off his nut on heroin and claimed she was 'posessed' by demons.
How the hell could you do such a thing to a defenceless baby, its beyond me.

That makes for some harrowing reading, hard to imagine how anybody could bring themselves to inflict such horror on a baby.

how should we deal with junkies and criminals?

i think they should be seperated off from normal society, and let to fend for them selfs in some anarchical open jail, somewhere like siberia

ok, MAYBE i could understand that he killed the baby cause he was off his face on heroine, thought it was a deamon so he killed it. but, the guy tortured the baby. now knowing that makes it hard for me to believe that he thought it was a deamon

because these kind of injuries would have happend over a period of time. if it happened once or twice without her being there she might have been ok.
but she had to have been present for some of it.

Snopes is not the be-all and end-all ya know! It has been wrong more than just a few times.

Back on topic though, it's a good thing the UK doesn't have the death penalty. Can you imagine the amount of people that would want him legally dead for this?

The baby was born premature so it must have required alot of expensive and time consuming care to keep it alive. Then it survives and gets out of hospital only for dad to torture and murder it while mam does nothing. It's a sick, sad world alright.

    Is it?

I hear ya! What I meant was the amount of rallys that we would be seeing back-to-back on the news. Anyone who does that to a baby - A BABY! - doesn't deserve warm blood coarsing through their veins.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,267 ✭✭✭kc66

I know all human life is supposed to be equal, etc, etc... But it seems so much worse when hearing about a baby being killed. They are so defenseless. They can only go along with what their guardian does.

Better - He should be neutered, semi-lobotomised and used as a slave turning a wheel to generate electricity.

Everybody has the potential to contribute something useful to society, but some don't have the inclination.
(Its kinda from the Matrix - If electricity is all they're good for, lets make electricity ;) )

Im with you on this one Karl. I think the death penalty should be here aswell.
Its a personal choice to take drugs, let alone around a 3mth old baby.
If I could have it my way, I would see that b*astard go out the exact way he killed his daughter, but mulitply the pain. You could only imagine the pain that tiny body was going through. And to your own flesh and blood?? Come on ffs ..

No such luck - this type of crime, which is likely to attract vengence inside, generally means they'll be locked up in a special wing with the paedophiles, and kept safe.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 56 ✭✭OsamaBinLaden

no death penalty for him or anyone for that matter. the only way to deal with these people is to let them live with the guilt of what they have done and never let them see the light of day again.
yeah, he will most likely be locked up with paedophiles, but isn't that a fate worse than death? i know that i wouldn't like to be in a room with one of them for more than a second let alone twenty years.
judging by his name, he is muslim and that means he'll more than likely be shunned by his community and rightly so. that's what he gets for taking drugs.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 354 ✭✭solicitous

no death penalty for him or anyone for that matter. the only way to deal with these people is to let them live with the guilt of what they have done

The only exception I would make is the criminally insane.
That scumbag made a choice to take drugs around his daughter, and beat her up over her 3mths of life till he eventually smashed her little head off a wall and killed her. You take the life out of someone, you deserve to have it taken out of you. the mother got away goddamn lightly in my opinion too. she knew what was going on, and didnt protect her child. The body had cigarette burns on it ffs. that is plain evil, dont even attempt to mask that with 'he was out of his face on drugs', that doesnt wash.
    Taking drugs is no accident.
