    Hi,

just for the ones who are considering going into the SE tonite for the 50 Euro Doublechance tonite.

Just to let you know, that this has been cancelled.

Someone from SE left a message on my mobile on Monday to let me know.

Not sure if everyone is aware of that.

    Cheers,
    DSAB

I got a phone call about this from a foxy sounding dutch girl last week. She called me 'Sir', it lessened the blow. Its nice to hear the word 'sir' without being followed by 'im going to have to ask you to leave':v:

I was planning on posting dsab's message a little later just as yis were all ready to head out to it.

Ouch Culchie, hope you don't have to travel too far.
Also for every boardster like you who got turned away, theres probably another 5 non-boardster poker players who turned up at the SE, are pi*sed off and won't be seen there again.
And the private party mob are probably 'prawn sandwich merchants' who only turned up coz their company was paying and wont be seen again either.

As Dub3 said earlier on the thread, its just not the way to run a business.

at least they went to the trouble of ringing regular players and telling them. they're not all bad...

I still think its wrong, how many players went to the trouble of turning up only to be told sorry not tonight.I would be interested in hearing exactly what they said to anybody who turned up.

Also how do they defying who is a regular player and who is not...?

you're making a way bigger deal out of this than it warrants. **** happens, plans change, get over it.

I get it, you don't like the SE or the clientelle they choose to court or their methods of doing so. Okay, move on.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,047 ✭✭✭Culchie

I actually don't think he's making a big deal out of it. I agree with Paul 100%

The reason the tournament wasn't running because there was 'a private function' on, who had hired out the floor.
What's to stop this happening next Wednesday, or the 23rd January or whenever.

This place is going to become increasingly popular for corporate entertainment as it's the perfect place to bring along clients, have office parties etc....instead of the usual haunts around town ....which is fair enough, but...

The SE needs to decide is it a casino, or a private/corporate hospitality business. They have afterall issued a tournament schedule.

If it is a casino, they should stick to their advertised tournaments, if it is to be a corporate hospitality establishment, so be it....but decide one way or the other.
