I made the move from Micro$oft OE to Mozilla Thunderbird, but I don't know how to set the McAfee virus scanner to scan incoming emails. Can anyone shed any light on how I might do that?

As long as the version of McAfee is new enough it should automatically pick-up Thunderbird as one of the apps it covers. It then scans the mail as soon as it's been downloaded and just before it allows Thunderbird to open it.

Nope, because it's the professional edition - McAfee virus scan 8 Enterprise.

    Ok.

I assume the people on the McAfee support forum are incorrect so... :p

Oh, hmm. Thanks for that. I suppose my question is actually moot - if I see an attachment and I'm not sure, and I open it, it will get scanned by the on-access scanner anyway, so there's really no need for it to scan incoming emails (I can usually spot the virus ones immediately anyway).
