    Hey all,

Recently purchased an item on ebay, shipping cost 35Euro from the UK.

After 3 weeks the item hadn't arrived so I emailed the guy and asked what the story was.He told me the item had been returned as the courier driver(UK based) had visited 3 times and left calling cards.

This had never actually happened as there are no records of any calling cards at my house and someone is there 24/7.As I live in the countryside, there is no number, name or post code to the house and normally couriers have to ring to find the house, however the seller did not ask me to supply a phone number. It seems as though the courier had been calling to the wrong house on the road or somewhere else.

After explaining this to bother seller and courier company, neither of them want to claim responsibility.

How do I get justice?Even to atleast get my money delivery cost refunded? Is therea consumers board I can contact?

    Thanks

I don't know how you can resolve this although I am a little surprised that you never mentioned the fact that couriers normally do not find your place and they may have to phone you for directions. The seller will not know that this may have been a problem but you did.

Pay for another delivery, and this time furnish all the details needed

Siff breeze there i reckon. They can both come back and say since you never stipulated your address properly then its your fault.......etc........
Next time get it delivered to your local Post office or something to that effect if your that outof the way.

    Nukem

I had a similar problem with an item from the US earlier this year.

Surely you have evidence that the correct address was given to the seller an email or whatnot? In that case it's their problem and they need to sort it. If you have had other items delivered with the same details, then its a non-issue.

Its a courier's job to find you, within reason. That's what you paid €35 for. No phone number, no problem, ask and you shall receive. A quick email is all the seller had to do to get this sorted for you.

    Crap service IMO.

If you get the runaround from the seller, explain the situation to your CC company (assuming you paid by CC of course!) and retract you payment from the seller.

to be fair, you knew a courier would normally need to ring just to find your house, so why didn't you give this info to the seller?

In the mean time, why not name your house? and put a sign on the road or something, or do what i do and get it all delivered to your work address.

I remember 2 years ago GLS (I think that is their name) claimed they called 3 times yet never left a card and they sent goods return to sender. I asked despatch to ask their driver what colour the door was but he couldnt remember. Was a bit surprised as the door was 5 different colours for a film shoot. Got the package back 2 days later.
