What's the best place to buy said memory stick in Dublin? I was thinking Pete's or Parnell Street.

What cost am I looking at about? It's a present for my brother.

    Cheers.

Shop4Memory are the cheapest I've found. You can pick up from them in Celbridge.

Can you clarify what you mean there alantc?

    What are all fakes?

And if they're fake, how come they work?

The ebay ones are all fakes. I spent ages reading a thread somewhere (that I can't find now) which showed the difference between real sony ones and fakes and even had a fwe people say they had confronted the sellers about it and they had been given their money back. The price difference is huge between a 2gb card on ebay and in the shops, too big.

Fake doesn't mean just a piece of plastic... just not real sony.

    Thats true allright.

My friend bought one of those sony ones a couple of months back, one of those sony ons, a 1gb one.

It was shipped from honk kong, he got it in what lookd like real sony packaging, with a real sony instuction manual.

He connected it to pc. Somehow whoever made it was able to make sure that when looking at its size through explored it showed as 1gb, but its real capacity was only 256mb.

It looks almost the exact same as the real sony one but has a slight variance in the way the model number is stuck to the product
