Now that this is finally being rolled out to schools I was wondering if anyone out there would be interest in sharing their experiences. Perhaps you could post details as follows:

School Name:
St. Brendan's Boys Primary School
Location:
Birr, Co. Offaly
Online Since:
6 Dec 2005
Service Provider:
BT
No. Computers on network:
24
Installation Type (e.g. DSL, Wireless, Satellite):
DSL
Download Line Speed (www.irishisptest.com):
1.7Mbp/sec
Upload Line Speed:
212Kbps

Thanks - it would be nice to see details and to see how the roll-out continues and whether the programme meets expectations.

I'll get some details from my mother's school.

Think they're on 2meg DSL, one PC hooked up at the moment. I'd have the school networked except it's a listed building and (afaik) I can't certify the work.

School:
St Colmcilles CS
Location:
Knocklyon, Dublin
Online Since:
Oh umm, maybe since 2001/2 (Actual schools connection arrived in Sept '05)
Service Provider:
Eircom and Digiweb (Schools Project)
No. Computers on network:
I think about 100+ (One for each room, two computer rooms, staff room, offices etc)
Installation Type (e.g. DSL, Wireless, Satellite):
DSL and Wireless
Download Line Speed (www.irishisptest.com):
DSL: 2Mb Metro: N/A
Upload Line Speed:
DSL: 128k Metro: N/A

The only reason I haven't looked at the metro link or set it up as I'm far too lazy/busy to get around to it.
